Sleep: The Travelodge, Milton Keynes
Sometimes you just need a place to rest your head for the night, nothing fancy, no room service, no designer toiletries, no beautiful grounds to stroll around, just somewhere that you can retreat to after a long day. Somewhere that you know is convenient, clean, comfortable and allows dogs. This is where the Travelodge delivers, we didn’t know we could take Barney, but one phone call and we were told dogs can stay, all we had to do was tell reception we had a dog with us, on arrival.
We stayed at The Travelodge in Milton Keynes this weekend (there are 3 in Milton Keynes!), the room was easy to book (online) and because we took Barney with us, we opted to pay a bit extra for a family room with a little more space. The room was clean, fresh, bright and a good size, plenty of space for Barney’s crate. The bed was comfortable, king size and clean white sheets. Everything is basic but there are tea & coffee-making facilities, free wi-fi for 30 minutes, en suite bathroom and towels, if you need a hairdryer you can get one from reception, it’s a no frills service but it does the job and for an extra £10 per night, dogs can stay in the room. Perfect for what we needed. We didn’t however opt for the breakfast in a box (an extra charge), so I can’t comment on it. There are over 500 Travelodge Hotels in UK, Eire and Spain and you can book a room via their website.
