DogLost Appeal ~ Stolen Dog Ellie, Cocker Spaniel
Stolen Ellie ~ Taken on Friday 19th October 2018
Anyone who has a Cocker Spaniel will testify to how loyal they are and 3-year-old Ellie was no exception. She loved her family, loved going for long walks and playing with her dog pals but she especially liked going to work with dad Iain, something she was lucky to do regularly.
The Day She Was Stolen
On Friday 19th October 2018, Ellie had spent the day in a garden in Towcaster, opposite the race course in Northampton whilst Iain was working there. Ellie very rarely left his side so this was a very normal day for them both.
At home time, Iain popped Ellie in his van and went back for his tools and in the 15 short minutes it took for him to pack up and return, someone had stolen Ellie from the Renault van and the family’s nightmare began.
Ellie’s heartbroken mum relives the day she was told Ellie had been stolen;
“Ellie’s disappearance has made me feel numb. It has affected me massively and the pain still isn’t getting any better.
Ellie’s bowls are still in the same place they were on the day of her disappearance, her dog bed still lies in the same place with her favourite toy on top. I am keeping them exactly where they are in hope that we will be reunited one day”
The Appeal So Far
Northamptonshire Police were made aware of Ellie’s theft immediately after she was taken and any potential leads that the family have received have been forwarded onto them to investigate. The Northamptonshire Police have also made other police forces aware.
The family have also ensured their local community are aware of Ellie’s case and have printed hundreds of posters, which have been distributed as far as possible, including to all local vets and Ellie’s microchip has been updated to reflect she has been stolen.
Ellie also has a Facebook page dedicated to her. The family hope that one share could be the potential link that will bring their beloved Ellie back home where she belongs
Sadly, even though Ellie has had national press coverage it still hasn’t resulted in anyone coming forward to end the family’s heartache.
When asked what he would say to anyone who knows what happened to Ellie back in October, Iain says
“If you have any information that may help us in the search for Ellie, I urge you to please come forward and help us. And if you have Ellie, please do the right thing and hand Ellie back to us. She has a loving home where she is missed hugely.”
The response the family has already had regarding Ellie’s disappearance has been overwhelming and has made the awful time that little bit easier but they still need their little girl home.
Ellie Is Microchipped
Ellie is microchipped so it will be easy to identify her, she was wearing a black collar with pink trim on the day she was stolen. Her tag noted she was microchipped on one side and had her surname plus a contact telephone number on the other.
Ellie celebrated her 3rd birthday recently, without her family. Please help DogLost bring her home so she can celebrate her next birthday with the people who love her most in the world.
